Questions on BabyFoam Solubility, Oil Soap Foam Booster, and Flora Foam Mixing Issue

Question

I have several questions regarding ingredient properties and formulation issues:

  1. The website information for BabyFoam states it dissolves in oil, but I believe it only dissolves in water. Could you please clarify this?
  2. I am making an Oil Soap formulation and need to add a foam booster. Can I use Cocamide DEA?
  3. I tried mixing Flora Foam with Sulfate Free No-Tear Shampoo Base, but encountered a problem. What is the correct method for mixing these two ingredients?

Answer

Thank you for your messages and for pointing out the discrepancy on the website regarding BabyFoam solubility. The staff has confirmed that BabyFoam dissolves only in water, not oil, and they will correct the information on the website accordingly.

Regarding your question about using a foam booster with Oil Soap, the staff advises against using Cocamide DEA due to safety concerns. As BabyFoam only dissolves in water, it cannot be used by dissolving it in oil first for your Oil Soap formulation.

For the issue you encountered when mixing Flora Foam with Sulfate Free No-Tear Shampoo Base, the staff is currently investigating this and will provide guidance on the correct mixing method shortly.

Please wait for the staff's update regarding the Flora Foam mixture problem.
