Recommended Secondary Surfactants

• Cond-Foam™ (Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Liquid): A very highly gentle surfactant that produces good foam. It has the special property of coating hair/skin, acting as a Hair/Skin Conditioning agent. It is non-bitter (suitable for tear-free formulas) and provides abundant foam when the formula's pH is in the range of 5-6.
• IseFoam™ (Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate): Also a highly gentle surfactant that produces good foam, suitable for body and hair cleansing products.
• Sucrose Cocoate (Sugar + Coconut Surfactant): A natural surfactant (from sugar + coconut) that significantly increases foam density, volume, and stability. It provides a soft feel to the skin after washing and has skin moisturizing (re-fatting) properties. It is particularly suitable for baby products.
• Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate (Gentle Anionic Surfactant): A gentle anionic surfactant, nitrogen-free and sulfate-free, derived from natural sources. It acts as a foam booster, enhances skin feel, is very mild to the skin, and is suitable for baby care products.

Combinations for Optimal Performance

To achieve the desired properties (abundant, fine foam, gentle, no eye sting, no dryness), you should use 1-2 main secondary surfactants and potentially add others to enhance foam quality and skin feel.

• Recommended Formula 1 (Focus on Gentleness and No Eye Sting): Use Cond-Foam™ as the primary surfactant (due to its non-bitter property) combined with Sucrose Cocoate to increase foam fineness and density, while also adding skin conditioning benefits.
• Recommended Formula 2 (Focus on Abundant Foam and Soft Skin Feel): Use IseFoam™ combined with Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate and/or Sucrose Cocoate to achieve abundant and fine foam while conditioning the skin to be soft and not dry.

You can choose to use 2-3 types of secondary surfactants in the same formula, to gain various properties and better meet your product requirements.
