Question

Can Dipropylene glycol or Butylene Glycol be used to disperse essential oils in water? If not, what ingredient should be used instead?

Answer

Subject: Regarding the use of Dipropylene glycol

Dipropylene glycol cannot be used to disperse essential oils in water. It is primarily used to dissolve or dilute fragrance components (like resins or powders) to help them blend with liquid fragrance oils, and it also acts as a fragrance fixative to help the scent last longer.

To disperse essential oils in water, a dedicated dispersant like FloraSolve is required.

Butylene Glycol is also a solvent, but for dispersing essential oils in water, a dispersant like FloraSolve is needed.
