Answer

Revised Serum Formulation for Oil Control

Based on the staff's helpful advice, here is the revised formulation for your oil control serum:

  • Water: 75%
  • Pro Polymer™ (Gel Maker): 1% (Reduced as Vitamin B6 is removed)
  • Cyclomethicone: 10%
  • Methylsulfonylmethane (Pure MSM™): 5%
  • Safe-B3™ (Vitamin B3, Niacinamide): 5%
  • L-Carnitine (Carnitine): 3%
  • Mild Preserved Eco: 1% (Added for preservation)

The staff correctly pointed out that your original formula lacked a preservative, which is essential to prevent microbial growth and extend the product's shelf life. Mild Preserved Eco at 1% is a suitable addition.

They also recommended removing Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine Hydrochloride) from the formula, especially for beginners, because it is an electrolyte and can make the gel formulation unstable or difficult to thicken properly with Pro Polymer™. By removing Vitamin B6, the amount of Pro Polymer™ needed to form a gel can be reduced from 2% to 1%.

The other ingredients (Cyclomethicone, MSM, Safe-B3™, L-Carnitine) and their suggested percentages are suitable for an oil control serum.
