Roll-on Stick Formula (Thicker Texture)

To achieve a thicker, stick-like texture for your roll-on, you will need to incorporate solidifying agents like fatty alcohols and waxes into the original serum-like formula.

Here is a sample formula and method to create a roll-on stick with a solid texture. The percentages can be adjusted slightly to achieve your desired hardness.

Formula

• Phase A (Water Phase):
  • Water: 38.9 - 53.9%
  • Aluminum Chlorohydrate (Anti-Sweat™): 10 - 20%
  • Disodium EDTA: 0.1%
  • Sodium Stearate: 5 - 10%
• Phase B (Oil/Silicone/Wax Phase):
  • Silicone Gel (Ultra Clear, Super Silky): 10%
  • Stearyl Alcohol: 15%
  • Cetyl Alcohol: 5%
  • Microcrystalline Wax (Melting Point 86C, Medium): 1%

Method

1. Combine the ingredients in Phase A in a heat-resistant container. Heat gently with stirring until the Sodium Stearate is dissolved or dispersed and the mixture is uniform.
2. In a separate container, combine the ingredients in Phase B. Heat gently until all solid components (Stearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Microcrystalline Wax) are melted and the phase is uniform.
3. Slowly add Phase A to Phase B while stirring continuously. Maintain heat and stirring until the mixture is homogenous.
4. Remove from heat and continue stirring gently until the mixture starts to thicken slightly.
5. Pour the mixture into roll-on stick containers. Allow to cool and solidify completely.

This formula uses Sodium Stearate to solidify the water phase containing Aluminum Chlorohydrate, while Stearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, and Microcrystalline Wax provide the necessary structure and hardness for the stick form. The Silicone Gel contributes to the texture and feel.
