Hydro-White™ (Hydroquinone-Replacer) Safety

Hydro-White™ (hydroxyphenoxy propionic acid) was developed as a safer alternative to hydroquinone. Hydroquinone is restricted in cosmetics in many countries due to its potential side effects and negative long-term effects on the skin.

Hydro-White™ works through a different mechanism than hydroquinone, inhibiting the release of melanin rather than the enzyme tyrosinase. This difference contributes to its improved safety profile.

Unlike hydroquinone, Hydro-White™ is permitted for use in cosmetics in most countries worldwide (except China). This widespread acceptance indicates that it does not have the same severe side effects or issues upon discontinuation that are associated with hydroquinone. Therefore, it is considered a safer option.
