Safety of Expired Facial Cleanser

Question

Following the previous discussion regarding the discontinuation of Perfect-C TransDerm™ and the suggestion to use Perfect-C instead, I have a facial cleanser that is past its expiration date. Given that it has been stored properly in a cool, dark place and appears normal (no change in color, consistency, smell, or lumps), is it still safe to use?

Answer

Based on the information provided by the staff, you can check the physical characteristics of the face wash. If it looks normal (no change in color, consistency, smell, or lumps), it should be safe to use. Expiration dates often include a safety margin, meaning the actual shelf life can be longer, especially if stored properly in a cool, dark place as you described. If you notice any changes in appearance or smell, it's best not to use it.
