Question
Based on the previous discussion about using a Salicylic Acid gel formula and a main cream formula, could you please clarify:
- Can the two separate formulas (the Salicylic Acid gel and the main cream formula) be used together?
- Is it possible or recommended to combine the
Salicylic Acid EZ™formula (even if reduced to 5%) into the main cream formula? What are the implications? - Does Licorice Extract effectively help in reducing irritation caused by Salicylic Acid?
Answer
Hello,
Based on the previous conversation with the staff:
- Using the two separate formulas together: Yes, you can use the two formulas (the Salicylic Acid gel and the main cream formula) together. You can apply either one first.
- Combining into one formula with lower Salicylic Acid: The staff recommended keeping the Salicylic Acid EZ™ formula separate even if you reduce the concentration (e.g., to 5%). The reason is that Salicylic Acid can be irritating, and separating the formula allows you to easily adjust its usage (frequency, duration, or even washing off) based on how your skin reacts. This independent adjustment is not possible if all ingredients are combined into a single formula.
- Licorice Extract for irritation: Yes, the staff confirmed that Licorice Extract is effective in helping to reduce irritation.
I hope this clarifies the staff's advice!
