Scrub Cream Base Formulation
Question
I am looking for a scrub cream base. I understand a ready-made base is not available. Could you provide guidance or a formula to create one? I have seen an example formula provided:
- Butter Cream Maker: 4%
- Beeswax: 5%
- Fractionated Coconut Oil or any oil: 10-20%
- Scrub powder: As needed (recommended to start at 1-2%)
- Fragrance: 0.5-2.0%
- Preservative: According to the usage rate of each type, such as Phenoxyethanol SA 1%
- Water: Remaining amount to reach 100%
Could you explain this formula further or provide alternatives?
Answer
Scrub Cream Formulation
Unfortunately, there is no ready-made scrub cream base available. However, you can easily create your own base. Here is a sample formula suggested by our staff:
- Butter Cream Maker™: 4%
- Beeswax: 5%
- Fractionated Coconut Oil or any oil: 10-20%
- Scrub powder: As needed (recommended to start at 1-2%)
- Fragrance: 0.5-2.0%
- Preservative: According to the usage rate of each type, such as Phenoxyethanol SA at 1%
- Water: Remaining amount to reach 100%
In this formula, Butter Cream Maker acts as an emulsifier to bind the oil and water phases. Beeswax helps to thicken the cream and provides emollient properties. Fractionated Coconut Oil serves as the oil base. You can choose from various scrub powders like CelluScrub™ Max or Sugarcane Scrub (available in different mesh sizes like 20-40 Mesh, 60-80 Mesh, 80-100 Mesh). Add your preferred Fragrance and a Preservative like Phenoxyethanol SA to ensure product stability.
