Serum Formulation and Mixing Procedures (Facial, Eye, Anti-Wrinkle)

Thank you for your formulations. We have reviewed them based on the previous staff recommendations and provide the mixing steps below.

1. Facial Serum (Oily Skin, Freckles, Pores, Occasional Acne)
Based on the staff's recommendation, the French Pine Bark Extract has been removed. The revised list of ingredients and percentages is:

• Distilled Water: Balance (approx. 81%)
• Willow Bark Extract (Natural Salicylic Acid): 5%
• Licorice Extract (Licochalcone A): 1%
• Chamomile Extract (Apigenin): 1%
• Magnolia Extract: 1%
• Double Hyaluron (Liquid): 1%
• Glycerin (Vegetable): 1%
• Safe-B3 (Vitamin B3 Niacinamide): 4%
• GlucoBright (Glucosamine N-Acetyl): 3%
• Pro Polymer (Acrylate Crosspolymer): 0.5%
• Butylene Glycol: 1%
• Mild Preserved Eco (Ethylhexylglycerin Caprylyl Glycol): 0.5%

Mixing Steps:

1. Weigh the water phase ingredients: Distilled Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Safe-B3, GlucoBright, Double Hyaluron, Willow Bark Extract, Licorice Extract, Chamomile Extract, Magnolia Extract.
2. Combine these ingredients in a beaker and stir until everything is fully dissolved/dispersed.
3. Slowly add Pro Polymer to the mixture while stirring continuously. Continue stirring until a homogeneous gel is formed.
4. Add Mild Preserved Eco and mix gently until fully incorporated.

Your proposed mixing order was not quite correct. The steps above follow standard formulation practice for this type of serum.

2. Eye Area Serum
Based on the staff's recommendations, the revised list of ingredients and percentages is:

• Distilled Water: Balance (approx. 92.5%)
• Bosewellia Serrata Extract (Boswellic Acid): 0.5% (adjusted per staff)
• Butylene Glycol: 3% (adjusted per staff)
• Safe-B3 (Vitamin B3 Niacinamide): 2% (adjusted per staff)
• GlucoBright (Glucosamine N-Acetyl): 1%
• Pro Polymer (Acrylate Crosspolymer): 0.5%
• Mild Preserved Eco (Ethylhexylglycerin Caprylyl Glycol): 0.5%

Mixing Steps:

1. Weigh the water phase ingredients: Distilled Water, Butylene Glycol, Safe-B3, GlucoBright.
2. Combine these ingredients in a beaker and stir until fully dissolved.
3. Slowly add Pro Polymer to the mixture while stirring continuously. Continue stirring until a homogeneous gel is formed.
4. Add Bosewellia Serrata Extract and Mild Preserved Eco. Mix gently until fully incorporated.

Your proposed mixing steps for this serum are correct as confirmed by the staff.

3. Anti-Wrinkle Serum
Based on the staff's recommendations, the revised list of ingredients and percentages is:

• Distilled Water: Balance (approx. 81.5%)
• Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 (Argireline): 3%
• Pep-Coll (Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5): 3%
• DMAE (Dimethylaminoethanol) (skin Tight-MD): 5%
• Safe-B3 (Vitamin B3 Niacinamide): 3%
• GlucoBright (Glucosamine N-Acetyl): 2%
• Pro Polymer (Acrylate Crosspolymer): 1% (increased from 0.5% per staff)
• Butylene Glycol: 1%
• Mild Preserved Eco (Ethylhexylglycerin Caprylyl Glycol): 0.5%

Mixing Steps:

1. Weigh the main water phase ingredients: Distilled Water, Butylene Glycol, Safe-B3, GlucoBright, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Pep-Coll.
2. Combine these ingredients in a beaker and stir until fully dissolved.
3. Slowly add Pro Polymer to the mixture while stirring continuously. Continue stirring until a homogeneous gel is formed.
4. Add Mild Preserved Eco. Mix gently until fully incorporated.
5. Finally, add DMAE and mix gently until fully incorporated.

Your proposed mixing steps were mostly correct, especially regarding adding DMAE last, which is important due to its electrolyte nature affecting the gel. The steps above refine the order slightly for better gel formation.

Regarding the anti-wrinkle serum and dry/dehydrated skin mentioned, the staff noted that the current ingredients don't include a dedicated moisturizer. You might consider adding a moisturizing ingredient suitable for serums if hydration is a primary concern.

Additional Ingredients:
You have Centella Asiatica Extract (Madecassoside 7%, Liquid) and Hi-EGCG™ (Green Tea Extract). Both are water-soluble liquid extracts.

• Centella Asiatica Extract: Known for soothing, healing, and anti-inflammatory properties. It would be suitable for the Facial Serum (Oily Skin) to help with occasional acne and reduce inflammation, or for the Anti-Wrinkle Serum for general skin repair and soothing.
• Hi-EGCG™ (Green Tea Extract): A potent antioxidant with anti-inflammatory and anti-acne benefits. It is also suitable for the Facial Serum (Oily Skin) to help with acne and pores, or for the Anti-Wrinkle Serum for antioxidant protection.

To incorporate either of these into a serum, you can add them in step 2 (with the other water-soluble actives) of the respective mixing procedure. Ensure you use them within the manufacturer's recommended usage rate and adjust the amount of distilled water accordingly.
