Question

I have formulated a serum with the following ingredients and percentages. Could you please review the formula for ingredient compatibility and advise on any potential issues, particularly regarding skin absorption?

My formula is:

  • Copper Peptide (GHK-Cu) 3%
  • Repair Activator™ (Bifida Ferment Lysate) 10%
  • Pep®-Coll (Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5) 5%
  • Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 (Argireline) 10%
  • Matrixyl 3000 (Pal-GHK, Pal-GQPR) 5%
  • Hyaluronic Acid (Small Molecule) 0.5%
  • Hyaluronic Acid (Large Molecule) 0.5%
  • Phenoxyethanol 0.5%
  • Distilled water 65.6%

Answer

Based on the conversation with the staff, the ingredients in your formula are compatible and can be mixed.

The formula you provided is:

  • Copper Peptide (GHK-Cu) 3%
  • Repair Activator™ (Bifida Ferment Lysate) 10%
  • Pep®-Coll (Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5) 5%
  • Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 (Argireline) 10%
  • Matrixyl 3000 (Pal-GHK, Pal-GQPR) 5%
  • Hyaluronic Acid (Small Molecule) 0.5%
  • Hyaluronic Acid (Large Molecule) 0.5%
  • Phenoxyethanol 0.5%
  • Distilled water 65.6%

The staff noted that due to the nature of large molecule Hyaluronic Acid used to create the gel texture, the absorption into the skin might not be ideal. They suggested adding Laurocapram at 3% to help improve the absorption of the ingredients.
