Serum Shelf Life and Preservation with NaturePreserve™ Ultra

The shelf life of a serum depends on several factors, including the complete formulation, manufacturing process, packaging, and storage conditions. While NaturePreserve™ Ultra (Gluconolactone & Sodium Benzoate) is an effective 100% natural preservative designed to protect against bacteria, fungi, and yeast, it's not possible to provide an exact number of months for your serum's shelf life without comprehensive stability testing.

For optimal preservation with NaturePreserve™ Ultra, consider the following from its product description:

• Recommended Usage Rate: 0.75-2.0%. For products in completely packaged containers, a rate of 1.0-1.25% is suggested. For cream jars requiring contact with outside germs, 1.5-2.0% is recommended. Your 5g in the formulation would need to be calculated as a percentage of the total serum weight to ensure it falls within this effective range.
• pH Range: NaturePreserve™ Ultra works best in a pH range of 3-6. If your serum's pH is outside this range, it should be adjusted for the preservative to work efficiently.
• Compatibility: It is important not to use NaturePreserve™ Ultra with Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid).

Ectoine (Ectoin, from Bio-fermentation) is a stable active ingredient that functions well in a wide pH range (1-9) and high temperatures, so it is generally compatible with various formulations and will not negatively impact the preservative system.
