Simple Face and Body Paint Recipe for Art

For creating face and body paint for art purposes, you have a couple of options:

Option 1: Using a Ready-Made Base

The easiest way is to use a ready-made base. There are "Body Paint" bases available in various colors such as White, Black, Bright Red, Dark Red, Yellow, and Blue. These bases are ready to use and can also be mixed with other colors.

These ready-made body paints are temporary and typically last 1-5 days. Please note that if you plan to sell the finished product, you would need to register it with the FDA.

Option 2: Making Your Own Base

You can also create a simple base yourself using basic ingredients like:

• Glycerin (USP/Food Grade): Acts as a humectant, solvent, and lubricant, helping to make the paint smooth.
• Titanium Dioxide 250nm Pigment (Non-Treated): This is a white pigment suitable for makeup products. It helps create the white base and provides coverage. You can mix this powder into the Glycerin or a water-based solution.

To make colored paint, you would add cosmetic-grade pigments to either the ready-made base or your homemade base. Ensure the pigments are safe for skin use.

When mixing your own, start with a small amount of pigment and gradually add more until you achieve the desired color intensity and consistency. You can adjust the thickness by adding a little water or more Glycerin if needed.

Remember to test the paint on a small area of skin first to check for any reactions.
