Skincare Recommendations for Mature Skin and Sensitive, Acne-Prone Skin in a Child

Question

I have two skincare questions:

  1. For a woman aged 45+, I would like products to help with:

    • Reducing wrinkles
    • Antioxidant protection
    • Reducing pore size
    • Improving skin hydration (not dry)
    • Brightening and clarifying the face
    • Lifting and firming

Is C E Ferulic sufficient, or do I need to add anything else? Which is better between C E Ferulic and Natural-C Glycol?

  2. For a 10-year-old child with very sensitive, easily irritated skin, frequent rashes, and hives on the face, who has clogged pores, inflamed acne, and fungal acne covering the face. Prescribed medication did not help and caused the face to become darker. The child does not have oily skin. What products or ingredients are suitable?

Answer

Skincare Recommendations

Here are some recommendations for facial skincare products based on the needs you described, suitable for production by MySkinRecipes or as ready-made options.

For a woman aged 45+

To address wrinkles, antioxidant protection, pore size, hydration, brightening, and lifting, a comprehensive approach is recommended. While Vitamin C is excellent for antioxidant and brightening benefits, a single product like Vitamin C E Ferulic or Natural-C Glycol may not fully address all concerns, especially significant wrinkles and lifting.

  • Vitamin C Serum: Both Vitamin C E Ferulic and Stabilized Vitamin C (Natural-C Glycol) Serum provide potent Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid) for antioxidant protection and brightening. Vitamin C E Ferulic has a heavier texture due to the presence of Vitamin E, which can offer more hydration, making it suitable for drier skin. Stabilized Vitamin C (Natural-C Glycol) Serum is a lighter, ready-to-use serum. The choice depends on skin type and texture preference.
  • Anti-Aging Serums: To target wrinkles and improve firmness, consider adding serums with peptides like Pep-PP4, retinoids like HyaRetin (Sodium Retinoyl Hyaluronate), or collagen boosters like HRC-4000 (Human Type III Recombinant Collagen). SerpinBlock is another ingredient that targets a specific aging mechanism.
  • Pore Treatment: For reducing the appearance of pores, PoreNin (Natural Extracted Tannic Acid) can be beneficial.
  • Hydration and Barrier Support: Ensure the skin is well-hydrated and the barrier is strong. Ingredients like those in Skin-Barrier (Ceramides, Cholesterol, Fatty Acids) are excellent for restoring the skin barrier and providing moisture.
  • Gentle Exfoliation: Gentle exfoliation with ingredients like Malt-Exfo (Maltobionic acid) can help improve skin texture and radiance.
  • Eye Area: For concerns around the eyes, REGU-AGE can help reduce dark circles and puffiness.

A possible routine could involve a Vitamin C serum in the morning, followed by a hydrating product. In the evening, alternate between a peptide/collagen serum and a retinoid product, followed by a hydrating/barrier cream. A pore treatment can be applied as needed.

For a child aged 10 with sensitive, acne-prone skin

For sensitive, easily irritated skin with acne, the focus should be on gentle, soothing, and barrier-supporting ingredients alongside effective but non-irritating acne treatments. As mentioned previously, for issues like hives and frequent irritation, consulting a medical doctor is recommended.

For skincare targeting sensitive, acne-prone skin:

  • Soothing and Barrier Support: Products containing Skin-Barrier (Ceramides, Cholesterol, Fatty Acids) are crucial for strengthening the skin barrier and reducing sensitivity. Portulaca Extract and Licorice Extract are known for their soothing and anti-inflammatory properties, which can help calm irritated skin and reduce redness associated with acne.
  • Acne Treatment: Gentle acne-fighting ingredients are needed. Pep-Acne (Oligopeptide-10) is an anti-microbial peptide that targets acne bacteria. Actin AC offers a multi-faceted approach to acne by helping regulate sebum, reducing inflammation and hyperpigmentation, and controlling bacteria. These can be less irritating alternatives to traditional acne treatments that may have caused darkening.

A simple routine focusing on gentle cleansing, soothing hydration, and targeted acne treatment is advisable. Avoid harsh ingredients and excessive exfoliation.

MySkinRecipes can produce custom formulations based on these ingredients, or you may inquire about ready-made products containing these beneficial components.
