How to Make Solid Perfume

Solid perfume is easy to make and customize. It typically consists of a few key ingredients: a wax, a carrier oil or butter, and a fragrance.

Key Ingredients:

• Wax: Provides the solid structure. Common options include Natural White Beeswax or plant-based waxes like Candelilla Wax or Sunflower Wax.
• Carrier Oil or Butter: Helps to soften the texture and carry the scent. Jojoba Oil and Shea Butter are popular choices.
• Fragrance: This can be a Fragrance Oil or an Essential Oil of your preference, such as Lavender Fragrance Oil or Bergamot Essential Oil.

Simple Formula Example:

Here is a basic guideline. You can adjust the ratio of wax to oil/butter to achieve your desired hardness.

• Natural White Beeswax: 50%
• Jojoba Oil: 47%

• Lavender Fragrance Oil: 3%

• (Note: The percentage of fragrance can be adjusted based on its strength and your preference, typically ranging from 1-5%. Adjust the carrier oil/butter percentage accordingly.)*

Instructions:

1. Melt: Combine the wax and carrier oil/butter in a heat-safe container. Gently heat using a double boiler or by placing the container in a pot of hot water until everything is fully melted and combined.
2. Cool Slightly: Remove from heat and let the mixture cool for a minute or two, but not so long that it starts to solidify.
3. Add Fragrance: Stir in your chosen Fragrance Oil or Essential Oil. Mix thoroughly to ensure even distribution.
4. Pour: Carefully pour the liquid mixture into your clean containers (small tins, jars, or lip balm tubes work well).
5. Solidify: Leave the containers undisturbed at room temperature until the perfume is completely solid. This may take a few hours.

Once solid, your homemade perfume is ready to use! Simply rub a finger over the surface and apply to pulse points.
