Question

I would like to inquire:

1. Can TXC™ (Cetyl Tranexamate HCl) be dissolved in Ethoxydiglycol?
2. If so, can Ethoxydiglycol be used as a solvent for all substances that require Glycol for dissolution?

Answer

TXC™ (Cetyl Tranexamate HCl) Solubility in Ethoxydiglycol

Based on the information available, TXC™ (Cetyl Tranexamate HCl) is soluble in glycols, including Propylene Glycol and Butylene Glycol, and also in oil, typically requiring heat between 60-80 degrees Celsius for dissolution. Ethoxydiglycol is a type of glycol ether and is described as soluble in glycols. Therefore, it is expected that TXC™ can be dissolved in Ethoxydiglycol, likely with the application of heat.

Regarding whether Ethoxydiglycol can be used as a solvent for all substances that require glycol for dissolution, this is not necessarily the case. While Ethoxydiglycol is a versatile solvent and carrier that can dissolve many substances and is soluble in various glycols, different substances have specific solubility characteristics. Ethoxydiglycol may not be able to dissolve every single substance that is soluble in any type of glycol. It is always recommended to test the solubility of a specific substance in Ethoxydiglycol.
