Color Recommendations for CP Soap

For Cold Process (CP) soap making, which involves a high pH environment, many colors can change or fade. To achieve stable colors like orange and red that are resistant to acids and alkalis, using pigments is generally recommended over dyes.

Pigments are dispersed in the soap batter rather than dissolving, which helps them maintain their color stability in the alkaline conditions of CP soap.
