Suitability of Soy Lecithin, Beeswax, Xanthan Gum in High Water Formulation

Based on the staff's previous response, Soy Lecithin is more suitable for formulations with lower water content. For a formula with a high water percentage like 78% and low oil (4-5%), Soy Lecithin would require a very high amount to emulsify, which is generally not practical.

Regarding Xanthan Gum and Beeswax, the staff explained that these ingredients act as thickeners, not emulsifiers:

• Xanthan Gum thickens the water phase. Its usage percentage depends on the desired viscosity, not on assisting Soy Lecithin in emulsification.
• Beeswax thickens the oil phase and cannot replace Soy Lecithin as an emulsifier to bind oil and water together.

Therefore, for your specific formula with 4-5% oil and 78% water, Soy Lecithin is not the recommended emulsifier due to the high water content. Xanthan Gum and Beeswax serve different functions (thickening) and cannot be used as substitutes for emulsification.
