Suitable Bases for Onion Extract

Based on the properties of onion extract, such as Hi-Quercetin® (Onion Extract, Quercetin 3%), it is water-soluble and can be effectively incorporated into various base types, including gels and creams.

• Gel Base (using propolymer): Suitable, as the extract is water-soluble and can be mixed into the water phase of the gel formulation.
• Cream Base (using light cream maker / easy cream maker): Also suitable, as the extract can be incorporated into the water phase of the cream emulsion.

Key Consideration: Regardless of whether you choose a gel or cream base, it is crucial to ensure that the final formulation has a pH lower than 6.0 to maintain the stability and effectiveness of the onion extract. The extract should be added to the water phase of your formulation.

Therefore, you can use both gel bases (with propolymer) and cream bases (with light cream maker/easy cream maker) for mixing with onion extract, provided the pH requirement is met.
