To create a sunscreen with SPF50++ easily, you can use a high-SPF base product and add other desired active ingredients.

Here are a couple of options for high-performance sunscreen bases that already provide SPF50+ or higher:

• Light Invisible Sunscreen (SPF50+, PA++++) (Product ID 127443): This is a light-textured serum base with very high measured SPF (149) and UVAPF (73.36). It is non-sticky and can be used as 90-100% of your formulation. You can add other beneficial ingredients to this base.

• Fluid Extreme Sunscreen (Ultra High/Broad Protection) (Product ID 125381): This is another water-based liquid base offering ultra-high and broad-spectrum protection (calculated UVAPF 195.87). It is also light and non-sticky. Use at 95-100% of your formulation and incorporate other desired actives.

Alternatively, if you prefer to formulate from individual ingredients, you can use:

• SPF Protect Ultra™ III (UVA+UVB) (Product ID 35118): This is an oil-soluble blend of sunscreen agents. To achieve SPF ~50, use this ingredient at a concentration of approximately 20% in your oil-in-water emulsion formula. Higher concentrations (up to 25%) can yield even higher SPF values.

Using a high-SPF base is generally the simplest method to ensure you achieve the desired SPF level while maintaining a pleasant texture.
