Question

How to formulate a sunscreen with a high oil content (around 40%)? Can Water-Capsule™ (Water-in-Oil Cream) be used for this, or is there an alternative emulsifier system?

Answer

Based on the information provided, when using Water-Capsule™ (Water-in-Oil Cream), the oil content should not exceed 20%. Using oil beyond this percentage is not recommended.

If you aim for a sunscreen formulation with a high oil content, around 40%, it is recommended to use a combination of Water-in-Oil EZ (4%) and Magnesium Sulfate (1%) as suggested.
