Sunscreen Spray and Mineral Water Spray Formulations
Question
I am looking for formulations for two types of spray products:
- No-Rub Sunscreen Spray: A liquid sunscreen spray that is lightweight, absorbs quickly without needing to be rubbed in, and does not leave a white cast. I understand this might involve using water-soluble sunscreen ingredients.
- Mineral Water Spray: A simple mineral water spray formulation.
Please provide formulation examples and guidance for both.
Answer
Sunscreen Spray and Mineral Water Spray Formulations
No-Rub Sunscreen Spray Formulation (Liquid, Non-Whitening)
For a liquid sunscreen spray that absorbs quickly, doesn't require rubbing, and leaves no white cast, you can use Clear Sprayable Sunscreen (Super Light, SPF40) as the main base.
- Clear Sprayable Sunscreen (Super Light, SPF40): 90-100%
- Other desired active ingredients can be added as appropriate.
This base has a clear liquid texture, is easy to spray, non-sticky, and provides SPF 40. It is suitable for creating a lightweight sunscreen spray.
If you prefer to create a formulation from scratch without a ready-made base, you might consider water-soluble sunscreen ingredients like Ensulizole (UVB protection) or Benzophenone-4 (secondary UVB protection and helps protect formula ingredients from UV). However, you would need to adjust the pH of the formulation accordingly.
Mineral Water Spray Formulation
For a mineral water spray, you can use Peppermint Water as the main ingredient.
- Peppermint Water: Up to 100%
- Cooling agents like Water-Cool™ can be added at 1-20% for a refreshing sensation when sprayed.
Peppermint Water is water distilled from peppermint leaves, has a mild fragrance, and already contains a preservative. It can be used directly as a base for a mineral water spray.
