Thickening Mineral Oil Gel (Thixotropic)

To increase the viscosity of your Mineral Oil Gel (Thixotropic, e.g., Versagel M), we recommend several oil thickening agents, each with different properties to suit your desired texture:

• Hectorite Gel™ (Mineral Oil Base): This is an oil gelling agent specifically for non-polar oils like Mineral Oil. It creates a thixotropic gel texture (liquefies under shear force and thickens again when the force is removed), ideal for makeup formulations requiring pigment suspension.
• Oil Thick™ Hard: This oil thickener creates a hard, high-density oil gel texture. It is easy to use and compatible with all types of oils, suitable for formulas requiring a semi-solid texture, such as balms or pressed powders.
• Oil Thick™ Soft: Provides a soft, high-density oil gel texture. It's easy to use and compatible with all types of oils, perfect for cream formulations needing a soft texture.
• Oil Thick™ Clear S: A transparent* oil gelling agent that acts as a thickener for non-polar oils like Mineral Oil and some polar oils. It gives a thixotropic gel texture that can help suspend beads or glitter in the oily gel.
• Oil Thick™ Transparent: Creates a clear, solid, high-viscosity oil-gel texture, ideal for formulas requiring clarity and a firm texture.
• Oil Thick™ Thixotropic: An oil gelling agent that provides a thixotropic gel texture, suitable for cosmetic formulas that require special and appealing gel characteristics.
• Oil-Fix™ S: This is a silica designed to act as a thickening/gelling agent in silicone or mineral oil. It can be used as a stabilizer in water-in-oil formulations and helps refine the formula to be drier, less gooey, and provide a matte finish.

Recommendation for use:
If you want your Mineral Oil Gel to be thicker while retaining its thixotropic properties, we recommend considering Hectorite Gel™ (Mineral Oil Base), Oil Thick™ Clear S, or Oil Thick™ Thixotropic. If you desire a firmer texture, Oil Thick™ Hard or Oil Thick™ Transparent can be used. Oil-Fix™ S is another excellent option for Mineral Oil to improve texture, making it drier and more matte.
