Serum Thickening and Whitening

To thicken your natural/organic serum, you have a few options depending on the desired appearance:

• For a clear, thicker serum: You can add Pro Polymer™ (Gel Maker) at a usage rate of 0.5-5%. A recommended starting point for a general gel texture is 0.8%. Using higher amounts (above 3%) can create a thicker, pudding-like texture. Pro Polymer has good electrolyte resistance.

• For a thicker, white/creamy serum: You can use emulsifiers that also act as thickeners, such as Light Cream Maker™ or Satin Cream Maker™. These are typically used at 0.5-3% (Light Cream Maker) or 0.1-3.0% (Satin Cream Maker). They can create a creamy texture without heat and have some electrolyte tolerance. Satin Cream Maker results in a pearl white color and can help absorb bubbles.

Adding Whitening Ingredients (Non-Irritating)

For adding a whitening ingredient that is less likely to cause irritation, consider the following:

• Safe-B3™ (Vitamin B3, Niacinamide): This is a highly pure form of Vitamin B3 that can be used up to 10% without causing flushing or redness compared to standard types. It helps reduce redness and hyperpigmentation, adds moisture, strengthens the skin barrier, and can reduce oiliness, making it suitable for acne-prone skin. It is mixed into the water phase.

• Pure-NMN™ (Nicotinamide Mononucleotide): While primarily studied for anti-aging and increasing NAD+ levels, research suggests potential benefits for skin health, including reducing inflammation and protecting against oxidative stress. It is mixed into the water phase at 0.2-2.0%. More clinical studies are needed on its topical whitening effects, but it is generally considered gentle.
