Question

I am formulating an underarm whitening cream and would like to ask:

  • Is Salicylic Acid EZ gentle enough for underarm exfoliation?
  • Between Sodium Lactate and Salicylic Acid EZ, which ingredient is more suitable for this type of cream formulation?

Answer

Recommended Ingredients for Underarm Whitening Cream

Based on your request for ingredients for an underarm whitening cream that provide whitening and exfoliation, and considering the sensitivity of underarm skin, here are the recommended ingredients:

Whitening Ingredients:

  • MSH White
  • GlucoBright
  • Alpha Arbutin
  • Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide)

Exfoliating Ingredients:
For gentle exfoliation suitable for the underarm area, it is recommended to use ingredients that are less irritating than AHA, BHA, PHA, LHA, Salicylic Acid EZ, or Sodium Lactate. Recommended gentle exfoliants include:

  • Pumpkin Renew™
  • Willow Bark Extract
  • FruitPeel™

Usage Percentage:

  • For Alpha Arbutin, it is recommended to use no more than 1% for the underarm area, even though the manufacturer's maximum recommended rate is 2%, to minimize potential irritation.
  • For other ingredients, please refer to the typical usage rates specified on each product page for detailed guidance.

Compatibility:
The recommended ingredients listed above are suitable for use together in a cream base. You also mentioned including Phospholipid, which is compatible.

However, Reservoir-Tech is not recommended for use in this formula as its compatibility with MSH White Absorb™ has not been tested.
