Question
Regarding an AHA Gel product containing 5% Glycolic Acid intended for use on melasma, should this product be washed off after application or can it be left on?
Answer
For AHA Gel containing 5% Glycolic Acid, when applied to areas with melasma, you can leave it on without washing it off.
However, it should only be used during the nighttime.
A concentration of 5% is within the generally recommended range for consumer use (not exceeding 5% for general consumers and pH not lower than 3.5). For optimal effectiveness, ensure the formula has an appropriate pH level (generally not exceeding 4.0 for maximum efficacy).
