Using Fragrance Oil with a Solubilizer for Aroma Diffuser Water
Question
I'd like to know: can Fragrance oil be mixed with flora solve so that the fragrance oil can mix with distilled water and then be used in an aroma diffuser? Is that correct?
Answer
Yes, in principle this is correct: Flora Solve™ Clear (Fragrance Solubilizer) can be pre-mixed with fragrance oil so the fragrance can disperse into distilled water. It is suitable for water-based fragrance systems, but the final liquid should be tested with the specific aroma diffuser because too much fragrance/solubilizer can make the liquid thicker, leave residue, foam, or affect some machines.
Recommended starting method
- Mix Flora Solve™ Clear : fragrance oil = 2–5 : 1 by weight.
- Start around 3:1.
- If the mixture turns cloudy after adding to water, increase Flora Solve™ Clear toward 4–5:1.
- Stir/blend the Flora Solve™ Clear with the fragrance oil first until uniform.
- Then slowly add this premix into distilled water while stirring.
- Do not do the reverse by adding water into the Flora Solve/fragrance premix, because it can form a thick gel.
- Avoid high heat, as heat can damage the fragrance profile.
Example small test batch
- Fragrance oil: 1%
- Flora Solve™ Clear: 3–5%
- Distilled water: 94–96%
Check that the liquid is clear or uniformly dispersed, not separating, not too viscous, and does not leave problematic residue in the diffuser. For aroma diffuser use, keep fragrance level low and do a small machine test first.
