The classic C E + Ferulic acid serum formula typically uses Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Acetate) (the oil-soluble form) or preferably free Tocopherol. This is because Vitamin E works synergistically with Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid) and Ferulic Acid to enhance antioxidant protection and, importantly, helps stabilize the highly unstable L-Ascorbic Acid within the formula itself.

Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Acetate) Water-Soluble (Product ID 7659) is a form of Vitamin E Acetate that has been made water-soluble. While its water solubility makes it compatible with the aqueous base of a C E + Ferulic acid serum, Tocopheryl Acetate is a precursor that needs to be converted to free Tocopherol in the skin to be active. It does not provide the same level of in-formula stabilization for Vitamin C as free Tocopherol does.

Therefore, while you can incorporate Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Acetate) Water-Soluble into the formula due to its solubility, it may not offer the full synergistic antioxidant benefits or the crucial stabilization of Vitamin C that the classic formulation achieves with oil-soluble Vitamin E (Tocopherol). For optimal results and stability in a C E + Ferulic acid serum, using oil-soluble Vitamin E (Tocopherol) is generally recommended.
