I am making a facial cleanser with the following formula:

  • Water: 84%
  • BabyFoam: 10%
  • AminoWash: 5%
  • Phenoxyethanol: 1%
  • Salt: a small amount to thicken
  • Lactic Acid: to adjust pH

I am experiencing a loss of viscosity when I add Phenoxyethanol. Why does this happen, and how can I prevent it or maintain the desired thickness?
