Question

Can regular Vitamin C powder (L-Ascorbic Acid) be mixed directly into water-based creams or moisturizers? What alternative is recommended?

Answer

Hello,

Regarding your question and the staff's reply:

Regular L-ascorbic acid vitamin C cannot be directly mixed with creams or moisturizers that contain water. This is because L-ascorbic acid is unstable in water and light; it degrades easily when exposed to water, reducing its effectiveness and potentially changing color.

As recommended by the staff, it is advised to use a stabilized form of vitamin C instead, such as Stabilized Vitamin C (Liquid AA2G). This form is more stable and easier to incorporate into various formulations.

You can read more details about why regular L-ascorbic acid should not be mixed into water-based formulas on the product details page on the website.

Hope this information is helpful.
