Water-Burst Cream Formulation using Silky Serum Base

To create a "water-burst" cream or serum, you can use a base like Silky Serum Base (Face/Eye). This base is designed to absorb quickly and give a light, smooth feel, releasing the water phase upon application.

Here is a basic guideline based on the suggested ratio:

• Silky Serum Base (Face/Eye): 15%
• Water and Water-Soluble Ingredients: 85%

Mixing Instructions:

1. Measure out the required amount of Silky Serum Base.
2. Gradually add the water (and any pre-dissolved water-soluble ingredients) to the Silky Serum Base.
3. Stir well after each small addition of water before adding more. Adding water slowly and stirring thoroughly helps the base incorporate the water properly. Avoid adding a large amount of water at once, as it can make mixing more difficult.
4. Continue adding water gradually and stirring until all the water phase is incorporated and the mixture becomes a uniform serum texture.

For Stability:

• It is recommended to add 1% NaCl (pure salt) or 1% Magnesium Sulfate to the formula in the final step and blend until dissolved. This can help increase the stability of the formula and prevent separation.

Important Note:

• Silky Serum Base (Face/Eye) is suitable for formulas containing only water and water-soluble ingredients. It cannot bind oils. If your formula includes an oil phase, you would need to use a different base like Silky Serum Base Plus.

Remember to add a suitable preservative to your final formulation if you are mixing with water to ensure product safety and shelf life.
