Waxes with Long Shelf Life for Lip Products

Regarding waxes that offer a long shelf life and help prevent rancidity in lip products, the following types are recommended:

• Microcrystalline Wax: Known for its high stability and ability to prevent oil separation (sweating) in lipsticks and lip balms, contributing to a smooth texture. Different types offer shelf lives of at least 2 to 3 years.
• Beeswax (Natural White Beeswax and Synthetic White Beeswax): Both natural and synthetic white beeswax are highly stable and do not easily change color or odor. • Tribehenin (Soft Wax): This synthetic wax offers high stability with no odor or color change. It is suitable for makeup products, including lipsticks, providing shine and a smooth texture.
