I would like a cream to help whiten skin. I have prepared the following formula and mixing procedure. Could you please review it?
Formula:
- Activated Resorcinol™ 1%
- Disodium EDTA 0.2%
- Light Cream Maker™ 1%
- LipidSoft™ Palm 5%
- Mild Preserved Eco™ (Ethylhexylglycerin) 1%
- Distilled Water 86.8%
Mixing Procedure:
- (Oil phase) Mix LipidSoft™ Palm + Activated Resorcinol™ in a container until combined.
- (Water phase) Mix Distilled Water + Disodium EDTA in another container until combined.
- Add Light Cream Maker™ to the oil phase, then mix the oil phase with the water phase.
- Add Mild Preserved Eco™ and mix until combined. Done.
Thank you.
Answer
Based on the formula you provided for a whitening cream, here is an analysis:
- The primary active ingredient for whitening is Activated Resorcinol™ at 1%. This is a well-known and effective skin lightening agent that works by inhibiting the enzyme responsible for melanin production.
- The formula includes Light Cream Maker™ as an emulsifier to create the cream texture, LipidSoft™ Palm as an emollient for skin softness, Disodium EDTA as a chelating agent (often used for stability), Mild Preserved Eco™ as a preservative, and Distilled Water as the base.
- The formulation provides the essential components for a basic cream structure and includes a suitable active ingredient at an effective concentration for skin whitening.
- Please note that the total percentage of the listed ingredients adds up to 95%. There might be a minor component not listed, or the water percentage could be slightly adjusted to reach 100%.
Overall, the formula is designed to address skin whitening using a recognized active ingredient within a standard cream base.
