BB Body Lotion Formulation Issues: Liquid Texture and Lack of Coverage

Hello! Regarding the issue with your BB Body Lotion formula being liquid and lacking coverage.

The main reason for the lack of coverage is the absence of a key ingredient: Titanium Dioxide. As the staff previously advised, BB/CC creams should contain Titanium Dioxide 200nm EasyDisperse to help adjust skin tone and provide coverage when used with Silk Talc Powder.

Regarding the liquidity, it might be due to an unbalanced ratio of the oil phase, water phase, emulsifier, and thickener/stabilizer, especially considering the high amount of powder in the formula.

We recommend trying the following adjusted formula to achieve a BB Cream texture with coverage:

• Water in Oil EZ 4%
• Lipid Soft CC 15%
• OMC 5%
• Oil-Fix 1.5% (Reduced as per previous advice)
• Isododecane 7%
• Titanium Dioxide 200nm EasyDisperse 8% (Added for coverage)
• Silk Talc 18%
• Water Remaining (Approx. 41.5%)

Explanation of Adjustments:

• Adding Titanium Dioxide will provide the necessary coverage for a BB Cream.
• Reducing Oil-Fix slightly follows the previous staff recommendation and can help with spreadability (although the current issue is liquidity, excess Oil-Fix isn't necessary and can affect overall texture).
• The Water in Oil emulsion system (Water in Oil EZ) inherently provides good water resistance.
• Isododecane helps with easy spreading and a non-sticky feel that doesn't cling to hair.
• The total powder content (Silk Talc + Titanium Dioxide) in this formula is quite high, which is typical for BB/CC creams requiring coverage. However, emulsifying a system with high powder content requires careful technique to ensure a smooth texture and prevent separation.

Please try this revised formula. If the texture is still too liquid, you might consider slightly increasing Oil-Fix to 2% or adjusting the oil/water phase ratio slightly.
