Question

Can Activated Resorcinol dissolve in oils like Coconut Oil and Shea Butter? What happens if these oils solidify at low temperatures?

Answer

Activated Resorcinol (4-Butylresorcinol) can dissolve in almost all types of oil, including coconut oil and shea butter.
However, regular coconut oil solidifies at room temperature (around 20°C), and shea butter also becomes solid like butter at lower temperatures. When these oils solidify, Activated Resorcinol may precipitate.
Therefore, it is recommended to use types of coconut oil and shea butter that remain liquid or soft at room temperature. For example, you can use Fractionated Coconut Oil instead of regular coconut oil, and Shea Butter Light Oil or Shea Nut Oil instead of regular shea butter.
