Product Description:
Ulipristal acetate is primarily used as an emergency contraceptive to prevent pregnancy after unprotected intercourse or contraceptive failure. It works by delaying or inhibiting ovulation and may also affect the lining of the uterus to prevent implantation of a fertilized egg. Additionally, it is used in the treatment of moderate to severe symptoms of uterine fibroids in women of reproductive age. By acting as a selective progesterone receptor modulator, it helps reduce the size of fibroids and alleviates associated symptoms such as heavy menstrual bleeding and pelvic pain. It is typically prescribed for short-term use before surgical intervention or as an alternative to surgery in eligible patients.
