Any recommendations for Bakuchiol Serum?

Postby arin_khem » Mon Apr 20, 2020 5:43 pm

1. Bakuchiol 1% 2. PPG-3 Myristyl Ether 3% is used as a melting oil. Bakuchiol --> use Butylene Glycol 3% instead? 3. Niacinamide 5% 4. Dimethyl Isosorbide 3% 5. Pro Polymer 0.5% - 1% 6. Allantoin 0.5% 7. Phospholipid 0.5% 8. Ethylhexylglycerin ( Mild Preserved Eco ) 1% 9. น้ำกลั่น Sterile, the rest are mixed skin. Can this formula be mixed? And how to mix it? Bakuchiol requires oil for blending, can use PPG-3 Myristyl Ether 3% or Butylene Glycol 3% or not? and required Phospholipid 0.5% in the merging of water and oil?

Bakuchiol comes in liquid form, not powder, so you don't need to add any other oils to dissolve it. I think cut PPG-3 Myristyl Ether can be released whereas Phospholipid can also be eliminated because Pro Polymer itself can bind no more than 10% of oil already. Notice Allantoin soluble in water not more than 0.5% at room temperature. Must calculate first how much water is used in the formula, then multiply by 0.5% to get % of Allantoin that is actually used.

Thank you very much [quote="llerickll"], it means that the formula is only 1. Bakuchiol 1% 2. Niacinamide 5% 3. Dimethyl Isosorbide 3% 4. Pro Polymer 1% 5. Allantoin 0.5% (calculated from 89% water gets 0.445% if you put 0.5% is it okay?) 6. Mild Preserved Eco 1% 7. น้ำกลั่น Sterile 89% like this I put % of Allantoin is that correct, calculated from water 89 % got 0.445%, do you have any recommendations for mixing steps?

Bakuchiol There are restrictions as follows. (Please copy from the substance details page. Bakuchiol )
Bakuchiol has a problem with metal irons should add chalating agent eg Disodium EDTA 0.1% or Phytic Acid to help capture any charge in the formula so that Bakuchiol Maximum stability - if the formula contains water. The pH must be adjusted below 6.5 (ideally in the range of 3.5-6.5). Bakuchiol can deteriorate - finished product It should be kept in a sealed, opaque and airtight container. If the formula needs to be displayed in a clear container, add a UV stabilizer, for example Protec™ UV or ActiveProtec™
suggest adding Disodium EDTA 0.1% Allantoin if you want to enter 0.5% I thought it might just be a meltdown. maybe some left Try it and see how you mix it, it shouldn't be a problem. This recipe doesn't require heat, mix with water phase (2-7 except 4), stirring one by one to dissolve well. then gently sprinkle Pro Polymer , little by little until gel is formed, then add oil phase ( Bakuchiol ) The poor are homogeneous.

Thank you very much llerickll if I switch from Pro Polymer , can I use another one to create a serum instead? For example, Xantan Gum 1% or is there another one you recommend because Pro Polymer is very expensive now.

Formula synchronization with oil part, recommend using Light Cream Maker or Satin Cream Maker would be a better option than creating gel texture AnyGel or Xanthan Gum to prevent water-oil stratification. Especially when developing formulas for distribution, which must have a long shelf-life before reaching users
http://www.myskinrecipes.com/topic9093.html
Xanthan Gum The amount of 0.5% is enough to be able to combine the 3% amount of oil in the formula? It's not enough, but if you mix it for a short period of time, not more than 1 month, it can be done. But if developing a formula for distribution In the long run, there will be a separation.
