Hello! I have purchased several extracts and products to make my own skin cream. I still have some lingering questions about using emulsifiers to create the cream texture. I have read forum posts but they are not very clear, so I wanted to do some basic experiments myself and share some of the results. I experimented with Moist Cream Maker at different ratios in 3 samples: Sample 1: Oil 10% + Moist Cream Maker 1.5% + Xanthan Gum 0.5%; Sample 2: Oil 40% + Moist Cream Maker 3% + Xanthan Gum 0.5%; Sample 3: Oil 25% + Moist Cream Maker 2% + Xanthan Gum 0.5%.
I have a soap base formulation containing Cocamidopropyl Betaine as a foaming agent at 24% of a 1kg base, but it produces very little foam. To achieve significantly more foam that is also suitable for children, which ingredient should I add between AminoWash™ (Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate) and Mild-Wash L™ (Sodium Lauroamphoacetate)? If I add one of these, should I reduce the amount of Cocamidopropyl Betaine and increase the new ingredient by how much? Or should I remove Cocamidopropyl Betaine completely and replace it with the new ingredient?
