PoreNin™ (Natural Extracted Tannins) for tightening pores.
Pure Tannic Acid extracted from green tea. Has the effect of helping to tighten pores, fight free radicals. and others as follows
Anti-photoaging Properties: Tannic acid has been identified as a promising anti-photoaging agent due to its potent antioxidant activity, which is greater than that of gallic acid. It also acts as a more potent inhibitor of the elastase enzyme than gallic acid, suggesting its role in preventing the degradation of elastin, a protein that gives the skin its elastic property. This inhibition is crucial for combating the effects of photoaging, as elastase activity increases with UV exposure, leading to the breakdown of elastin and the appearance of wrinkles and sagging skin[5].
Barrier Protection Against External Stimulants: A study highlighted tannic acid's ability to act as a barrier on the skin surface, preventing the permeation of external stimulants such as 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate (TPA) and artificial sweat. This suggests that tannic acid can protect the skin from inflammation caused by external irritants, maintaining the integrity of the stratum corneum, the outermost layer of the skin, which is crucial for barrier function[4].
Inhibition of Skin Inflammation and Tumor Promotion: Tannic acid has been shown to inhibit the proliferation, migration, and invasion of prostate cancer cells, as well as modulate drug metabolizing and antioxidant enzymes. While this study focuses on prostate cancer, the modulation of antioxidant enzymes and the anti-inflammatory properties of tannic acid can be extrapolated to suggest benefits in inhibiting skin inflammation and potentially preventing tumor promotion in the skin[3].
