Product Description:
Widely used as a catalyst in hydrogenation reactions, particularly for reducing nitro compounds, nitriles, and aldehydes. It is effective under mild conditions and commonly employed in the synthesis of amines, pharmaceuticals, and fine chemicals. Its high surface area and activity make it suitable for industrial-scale processes, including the production of nylon intermediates. Also used in desulfurization reactions, such as converting thiophene derivatives to hydrocarbons. Due to its pyrophoric nature, handled with care under inert conditions or as a slurry in water.
