Product Description:
Used as an oxidizing agent in photographic printing and developing processes, particularly in cyanotype printing where it forms light-sensitive solutions that produce blueprints. Commonly employed in laboratory settings for testing ferrous ions, yielding Turnbull's blue in qualitative analysis. Acts as a mild oxidant in organic synthesis. Utilized in electroplating baths to improve finish and reduce pitting. Also found in some histology labs for staining tissue samples, specifically to detect ferrous iron, forming Prussian blue in the presence of iron(II). Occasionally used in the food industry as an anti-caking agent in salt and other powdered products, though in very small, regulated amounts.
