Product Description:
Used in solid-phase peptide synthesis, particularly for incorporating selenocysteine into peptide chains. The Fmoc group allows for orthogonal protection, enabling selective deprotection under mild basic conditions without affecting other protected amino acids. The Mob (4-methoxybenzyl) group protects the selenium atom, preventing unwanted oxidation or side reactions during synthesis. After chain assembly, the Mob group can be removed under strong acid conditions, such as with HF or TFMSA, allowing formation of diselenide or selenosulfide bonds.
