GlyH-101 is primarily used as a selective inhibitor of the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) chloride channel. By blocking CFTR-mediated chloride secretion, GlyH-101 helps scientists investigate the role of CFTR in fluid transport, airway surface liquid homeostasis, and the pathophysiology of cystic fibrosis. It is also used to validate the activity of potential CFTR potentiators or correctors in drug development. Due to its cell membrane permeability and reversible action, it is suitable for in vitro functional assays, including short-circuit current measurements in epithelial tissues.
