Product Description: Gadolinium is widely used in medical imaging, particularly as a contrast agent in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). When administered in chelated form, it enhances the clarity of internal body structures by improving the contrast of the images. This allows for better diagnosis of abnormalities such as tumors, inflammation, and blood vessel diseases. In addition to medical applications, gadolinium is used in nuclear reactors due to its high neutron absorption capacity. It helps control nuclear fission by regulating neutron flux in control rods and emergency shutdown systems. Gadolinium compounds are also found in phosphors used in color television tubes, computer monitors, and fluorescent lamps, where they contribute to red and green color emissions. Furthermore, it is used in manufacturing various electronic components and in some industrial processes involving high-temperature materials due to its stability and magnetic properties.
