Product Description:
Used in samarium-cobalt magnets, which are strong permanent magnets resistant to demagnetization and perform well at high temperatures. These magnets are applied in aerospace, military, and high-performance electric motors and generators. Samarium is also used in cancer treatment through samarium-153, a radioactive isotope that targets and relieves pain from bone cancer. It acts as a neutron absorber in nuclear reactor control rods due to its high neutron capture capacity. Additionally, samarium serves as a catalyst in chemical reactions, including dehydration and dehydrogenation processes in organic synthesis.
