Product Description:
Used primarily as a pre-emergence herbicide in agriculture, especially in soybean, rice, sugarcane, and tobacco crops. It controls a broad spectrum of broadleaf weeds and some grassy weeds by inhibiting protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO), an enzyme involved in chlorophyll synthesis. This disruption leads to the accumulation of toxic compounds in plant cells, causing rapid cell membrane damage and weed death under sunlight. Its residual activity provides extended weed control, reducing the need for multiple applications. Due to its soil stability and low volatility, it is effective in various soil types and climates, making it a valuable component in resistance management programs where herbicide resistance is a concern.
