Used primarily as a plasticizer in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and other polymers to improve flexibility and workability. Offers good low-temperature performance and resistance to extraction by oils and water. Commonly found in wire and cable insulation, automotive parts, and industrial films where durability and flexibility are required. Also used in some synthetic resins and coatings to enhance toughness and adhesion. Shows better volatility resistance compared to lighter ester plasticizers, making it suitable for applications involving moderate heat exposure.
