Product Description:
Used primarily as a reactive diluent and comonomer in polymer formulations, especially in the production of pressure-sensitive adhesives, coatings, and sealants. Its vinyl group enables easy incorporation into polymer chains during free radical polymerization, while the long alkyl chain imparts flexibility, water resistance, and improved adhesion properties. Commonly found in emulsion polymers where it enhances film formation and lowers the minimum film-forming temperature. Also utilized in modifying resins for improved compatibility with non-polar materials and in the synthesis of specialty polymers requiring hydrophobic characteristics.
