Shea butter เชียบัตเตอร์ หรือ karite butter เป็นไขมันธรรมชาติที่ได้จากต้น karite nut มีคุณสมบัติในการช่วยแผลที่เกิดจากการเผาไหม้, รอยแผลเป็น, ผิวหนัง, โรคสะเก็ดเงิน รังแค และรอยแตกลาย นอกจากนี้ยังช่วยลดริ้วรอย ทำให้ผิวชุ่มชื้น ช่วยฟื้นฟูเซลล์ที่ถูกทำลาย และทำให้เลือดหมุนเวียนดีขึ้น มี cinnamic acid ที่ช่วยปกป้องผิวจากอันตรายของรังสียูวี Shea butter จึงเป็น moisturizer ที่มีประสิทธิภาพสูงเพราะมีกรดไขมันจำนวนมาก จึงช่วยรักษาความชุ่มชื้น และความยืดหยุ่นให้กับผิว ด้วยปริมาณกรดไขมันที่สูง จึงนิยมนำไปผสมใน สบู่ แชมพู เครื่องสำอางค์โลชั่น นวดน้ำมัน และครีมลดริ้วรอย
ชนิดไม่มีกลิ่นหืน (deodorised) จาก West Africa ซึ่งเป็นแหล่ง Shea ที่ดีที่สุด
การใช้: สำหรับผลิตภัณฑ์บำรุงผิว ให้ความชุ่มชื้น อยู่ในรูป โลชั่น ครีม ฯลฯ
วิธีการผสม: ผสมในน้ำมัน (oil-phase) โดยอุ่น 60-70องศา เนื้อเนยจะละลายกลายเป็นน้ำมัน
อัตราการใช้: 1-100% (ขึ้นอยู่กับประสิทธิภาพที่ต้องการ Shea Butter สามารถนำมาทาผิวได้โดยตรง หรือใช้ 100%)
ลักษณะผลิตภัณฑ์: เนื้อครีมแข็ง ณ อุณหภูมิห้อง ไม่มีกลิ่น
การละลาย: สามารถละลายในน้ำมัน ด้วยการใช้อุณหภูมิ 60-70องศา
