• Improves sensorial feel; good for compromised or very dry skin because it lowers lamellar rigidity.
• One double bond = moderate oxidation risk (needs tocopherol).
N-linoleoyl-phytosphingosine C 18:2 Δ9,12 cis (linoleic) – two double bonds viscous oil ≈ 25–30 °C highly fluid, liquid-crystalline • Very fluid – acts almost like an internal “skin lipid plasticiser”.
• Linoleic acid is an essential FA for in vivo synthesis of true acyl-ceramide (Cer EOS); topical LP can serve as a biochemical precursor.
• Highest oxidation liability → antioxidant system is mandatory; short shelf-life if unprotected.
N-stearoyl-phytosphingosine C 18:0 (stearic) – fully saturated waxy solid / powder ≈ 80–90 °C highly ordered orthorhombic • Most abundant epidermal ceramide after EOS.
• Builds a very tight, impermeable barrier, but is hard to dissolve—usually pre-dispersed or made in-situ from alkaline-earth salts.
• Excellent oxidative stability; longest shelf-life.

 


Use: The main ingredient in moisturizer products for sensitive skin, dry skin, aging skin, aging skin.

How to mix: Mix in the oil portion of the formula. Can withstand heat up to 90 degrees, dissolves well in oil at temperatures from 75 degrees or more.

Utilization rate: 0.01-0.2% (0.1% recommended)

Product characteristics: White-light yellow powder

Solubility: It can dissolve in oil and some fatty alcohols.

Storage: Valid for 24 months, please store in the refrigerator at 6 °C -8 °C Mixed cosmetics should be stored in the refrigerator.
